Robb Report - June 11

Robb Report, 28th June 2011

Nomad Tanzania’s latest luxury campsite opened in the Tanzanian Serengeti on June 27. Lamai Serengeti has 12 tents, split between two separate camps, each with its own veranda ($740 per person per night sharing accommodation; $600 per person in low season, November to December). Both the main eight-tent camp and the second, four-tent camp overlook Kenya’s Maasai Mara and the Lamai Wedge in Tanzania. There is a private bar and dining area, with adjoining library and map room, and a natural rock swimming pool. The campsite is open year-round, with the exception of April and May, with activities including game drives, guided walks, picnics, and more. Between July and October, travelers can see the wildebeest migration, known as the Mara River crossings.
