Some good news from Sand Rivers as your holiday is about to begin and we are back home! We have finally made it back into the Selous Game Reserve in what seems like a very long break. We arrived back safely after a memorable 2 day drive from Arusha in an open safari vehicle, hairstyles were very interesting after that.
'Not a bad view for two days with our trusted guide Joel behind the wheel of our trusted Land Rover'
The journey down had several interferences, to name a few, several road works, a tree falling across the road, a truck stuck in the mud of a single track road, oh and Lake Tagalala flooding into the Hot Springs.
'Luckily these guys had a chainsaw to make mincemeat of this tree'
'We are not quite sure how long this had been there or how long it stayed on after'
A highlight was having lunch in the historical village of Kisaki, where we had numerous friends coming to say hello.
'A few friends that came by during lunch'
Sand Rivers was still in one piece after the massive rains the Selous received this season, everything bright and green. Our skeleton crew grew a bit in order to maintain the surrounding bush from enveloping Sand Rivers completely.
So it’s two weeks to go and there is work to be done, but it’s nothing new to Sand Rivers and we can’t wait to meet our very first friends of the season.
