Prim Mlay
Expeditionary Walking Camp, Mobile camp, Southern Tanzania
Prim was born in the town of Moshi in the foothills of Kilimanjaro and enjoyed his early years there before his family moved to Mwanza. He started taking a keen interest in nature aged seven when he had a pet vervet monkey; he even had a pet snake for a while, and from then on, his love for animals and nature was solidified.
After finishing secondary school, Prim attended a wildlife college and completed his Field Guides Association of Southern Africa qualification, as well as many other wildlife courses.
Prim has been in the safari industry for over fifteen years, many of those spent specialising in walking safaris in the vast Serengeti ecosystem. Prim joined the Nomad team as Chada camp manager, but with his specialist walking experience, he now heads up our Expeditionary Walking Camp which moves between Ugalla, Ruaha and the Serengeti.
Prim's love for walking and birdwatching makes him one of the best walking guides in the company. With so much of his time spent in the bush, he certainly has some exciting safari tales to tell around the campfire.
