Eddie Burra
Northern Guide
Eddie was born and raised between the city of Arusha and the town of Karatu on the southern slopes of Ngorongoro Highlands. He is married and has two lovely daughters. Spending his childhood surrounded by the forests of the highlands, was how his lifelong love and passion for animals and the environment began.
Eddie has been a professional safari guide for over 15 years, marvelling in all things natural, from insects, wildflowers, reptiles and mammals to star gazing; his love for birding continues to grow every day.
During his long career in guiding, Eddie has contributed to community and conservation projects across the country, specifically those which focus primarily on cheetah movements and the lifestyle of the Maasai in the Crater region; with this a particular interest in monitoring the effect of lives being lived alongside lion and hyena.
Eddie joined us at Nomad in 2016 and we’re delighted to have him on our team. He’s won prizes for his storytelling abilities, so do ask him a thing or two about his life spent in the wild places of Tanzania. He has a passion for the bush and an enthusiasm for life that knows no bounds.
