This place is paradise on earth! We had the most wonderful family experience with the chimps and enjoyed every part of our stay. The accommodation was exceptional!! We would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for an adventurous holiday, combined with relaxing!!

Found My Happy Place

I was thinking it would be easier to simply copy & paste my previous review/feedback from my visit in July-August with my parents but then I realized that it wasn’t quite sufficient. I have traveled around the world & have met so many amazing people while adding unforgettable experiences to my story but there was something (a lot of things) that made this particular trip to Tanzania the best time of my life. There wasn’t a single thing I would have changed or that was missing. While the wildlife & vast terrain of the Serengeti & chimpanzees of Mahale were spectacular, in all sincerity it was/is the people at Lamai & Greystokes that made my return this November-December so memorable & special. From the time I arrived at each location until my departure, I felt like I was not just another guest but a close friend. The bonds that I have created with numerous staff members are the type that I will cherish forever. I consider them family & they hold a special place in my heart. There was not a moment during my entire stay in Tanzania that I was not smiling ear to ear, laughing (to the point of tears) or simply having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude. Life can sometimes get in the way but here there were no worries, no stress & no concerns other than being in the moment. I have truly found my happy place.

Phenomenal Time at Lamai

We had an absolutely phenomenal time at Lamai! The location is breathtaking. The service was impeccable. And the guiding and wildlife sightings were both astounding and magical. We didn't have enough superlatives to describe all our amazing moments. Lamai far exceeded all of our expectations!

Amazing experience. The staff was really nice and ready to provide us with anything we needed at anytime. Excellent food service and accomodation.

If you have the chance to visit Greysyoke in Mahale you will remember it forever as the most magical experience. There are so many layers to the experience of staying here from the honour of witnessing the chimpanzees as they go about their daily life - lives rich with the complexities we too experience and explained to you by the outstanding guides who know these chimps so well. The location is amazing - verdant green forest spilling down the mountainsides onto the crystal clear lakeshore - the chalets blend beautifully into their surroundings and you would hardly know they were there. The style , elegance and quality of service is exceptional and the food is absolutely delicious .
The camp works so well as its outstanding staff are managed exceptionally well by Mwiga - who is a fountain of knowledge and well attuned to guests‘ needs and how to make their experience at the camp and the chimp visits so memorable.
